I think one of the hardest lessons in coming to college is discovering you can’t do everything. In the past it was always possible to negotiate everything to a moderate level of involvement so one would get the best of all worlds. It no longer works that way. I’m being faced with the decision between two hobbies: music and theater. As long as I continue to attempt to be involved in one, neither is certain to work out in the end. Unless I want to go batshit crazy; which may or may not have already happened.
And for future reference, being told by your ex to go get therapy is not helping any of these choices become any easier. Of all the people to not understand being at a loss for direction…
Roommate 1: “Oh my god, we have our midterm in nine hours.”
Roommate 2: “Shhhh…”
